Big Dan signs new deal untill 06

Danny Shittu has signed a new contract with the R's which will take him through to the end of the 2005/06 season. The deal which is the "first of many" according to manager Ian Holloway was sewn up on Wednesday afternoon to the delight of the giant centre-back.
Shittu has been a revelation since signing from Charlton two seasons ago and has formed a formidible partnership with Clarke Carlisle giving the R's one of the best defences in the country.
It was widely expected that Shittu signed a new deal after the defender confirmed on the official website he hoped to stay with the Hoops.
