Cook has given his word to sign once the two clubs have reached agreement over the fee involved, but negotiations on this are at an advanced stage, with Watford likely to receive a one off payment of around £200,000.
"Cookie" has apparently turned down 3 offers from 1st division clubs- Rangers, Nottingham Forest and one other in favour of a move to the Premiership.
If the news filtering through is true it will be a big blow to Ian Holloway’s pre-season plans as Cook has long been part of the R’s 1st division plans.
An impressive loan spell enhanced his reputation and an offer earlier this season was turned down by the Hornets. Cook has since rejected a new contract to stay at Vicarage Road and was expected to sign for the Hoops. Iain Dowie’s Palace have since come in with a late bid which has swayed Cook’s final choice.
