Crewe Boss Slams Holloway

Gradi was furious with Holloway’s claims that Crewe are asking for too much money for the forward whose contract expires in the summer. “There are just some situations where players are out-of-contract in the summer and at the moment their clubs are asking for ridiculous fees. “We spoke to Crewe about the possibility of signing Steve Jones and they were asking fro £300,000 when he is out-of-contract in six months time, on a free. That is just bad business.” Holloway said. Gradi responded strongly to the Rangers boss, claiming he has no right to be discussing the struggling Championships sides business. “He is out of order to be speaking about my players because it is none of his business. “A few people have spoken to me about Steve Jones but its ridiculous what some clubs are trying to do.” Gradi told the official website at Crewe. Holloway has now turned his attentions from Steve Jones to other targets in the January transfer window, outlining Bournemouth star James Hayter and Crystal Palace forward Wayne Andrews. Meanwhile Richard Langley admitted to his own website run by Icons that his future at Loftus Road is still very much up in the air and the ‘ball’s in the club’s court now.’ Langley resigned for the Hoops on the last day in August and has had a clause in his contract since then which states he’s free to leave in January if no new deal is offered. His current deal expires in the summer and Langers said: “The next few weeks will be very important for me. I only have until the end of the season left on my contract, and there’s a clause saying that either QPR will offer me a new one, or I can leave in January on a free. “What I’d love to do is commit to QPR for the next couple of years, but the ball’s in the club’s court now. Hopefully we’ll start speaking terms soon, and that’s what I foresee happening, but as things stand I’m available now on a free transfer and waiting to hear from the club whether they want me to stay.” After regaining match fitness and having a run in the first-team Langers is starting to reproduce the form that saw him help the club reach the Division 2 playoff final back in May 2003- a game that he missed through suspension. QPR MAD will bring you up to date with the latest transfer news throughout January as Rangers look to strengthen ahead of a hopeful playoff push this spring.
