You could be forgiven for thinking the wheels are coming off for QPR.
They lost to Bristol City on Saturday, Martin Rowlands is now suspended for the big clash at Plymouth, and assistant manager Kenny Jackett has left to become manager of Swansea - but according to Chief Executive David Davies there was nothing they could have done about Jackett's departure.
Comments by midfielder Marc Bircham on tv over the weekend suggested the players were unhappy with the board, but Davies was keen to put the record straight.
"Kenny had three months left on his contract but even if he had a 10-year contract he would have been gone," he said.
"He has been straight with us all along in saying he wanted to be a number one and he had applied for other jobs on an irregular basis in the past, but the chance to go to Wales and to take his family back to the valleys was too good to miss.
"The timing was not good, but if I had made him stay we would have had a very dissatisfied man at the club. Comments like those from Marc are very unhelpful."
He continued: "Ian has been jumping up in the air about it, but he knew the situation and I think he is concerned about his and his players' contracts that are up in the summer. It is tempting to offer him a new contract now but I don't want to detract from the job in hand.
"You are damned if you do and damned if you don't," he concluded.
