Rangers have completed contract talks with veteran striker Paul Furlong who has signed a new deal for a further year.
Furlong's future was up in the air after the 35-year old helped Rangers to promotion it was widely thought he may now quit the game. Furlong however said that he would love to battle it out in the 1st division for one more year and see how it goes.
Swansea came in with an offer but Furlong rejected, hoping to seal a new deal at Rangers and when the offer came and after a few days of negotiations he has now signed.
Furlong is the second player to sign up again after Marc Bircham. Matthew Rose is close to agreeing a new deal along with Richard Johnson and Richard Edghill.
Furlong has scored 29 goals in 59 games for the R's since joining from Birmingham in 2000, initially on loan. He netted 16 goals last season in the promotion year and will remain a big part of Ian Holloway's plans for next season.
