The 32-year-old was a rock at the back as Adel Taarabt's first-minute strike secured a valuable three points and sent the Hoops 10 points clear at the top of the Championship with just five games to go.
Hill told the club's official website: "It's a great win for us.It's the perfect response after Saturday, when - by our own admission - we were well below par.
"This win shows what this group of lads is all about. We're in this together - we win together, we draw together, we lose together."
Taarabt's match-winner was another left-footed stunner and Hill added: "There was probably only one player on the pitch who could score that type of goal and that was Adel.
"He's a great talent and he took his goal really well. It was a crucial three points for us and we're that little bit closer to where we want to be."
