But he expects boss Neil Warnock to keep faith with Tamas Priskin and fit-again Jay Simpson against the Rams.
"I'm willing to bide my time," he said. "I understand why the manager is opting for experience because that is what's needed at the moment.
"However, I'm working hard in training and, as you could see, he threw me on and I got the goal he asked for."
German has clearly been impressed with Warnock's impact since he arrived at the club three weeks ago, adding: "He's a great manager, a fantastic leader and motivator."
