January Transfer Update
Ian Holloway has been a long-term admirer of the young defender and sealed a 6-month loan deal on Sunday afternoon after initially showing interest way back in July 2005.
The Polonia Warsaw player had also been tracked by high-flying Reading and Leeds United whilst also spending time on trial with Crewe Alexandra.
Kus (24) is most accomplished as a right-sided defender, but can also play in the centre, is expected to be in the squad to travel to Kenilworth Road this coming Saturday for the visit to Luton Town.
The move follows Friday’s loan capture of young utility defender Andy Taylor from Blackburn Rovers.
The 19-year old has signed for 3 months and came on as a substitute in the 1-0 win against Southampton at Loftus Road.
Elsewhere, Bournemouth star James Hayter has been once again linked with a move to West London. Hayter who has notched up 14 league goals this season is out-of-contract at the end of the season and the Cherries are keen to receive cash rather than let the star striker leave on a free transfer in June.
Glasgow giants Celtic & Rangers are also tracking his progress and will provide stiff competition for his signature should Ian Holloway agree to match Bournemouth’s £300,000 asking fee.
Another Cherrie star Shaun Cooper has turned down the overtures from Loftus Road. Rangers had offered club and player a reasonable offer but the young defender has decided to stay put and reject the proposed deal.
Aaron Brown has completed his move away from Shepherds Bush to sign for Swindon Town in League 1.
Brown had struggled to break into the Rangers first team since signing in the summer and had a loan spell at Cheltenham Town before enjoying a profitable month at the County Ground with new Swindon boss Iffy Onoura.
Ian Holloway agreed to release the player on a free transfer as the struggling club cannot afford to pay transfer fees in there current financial plight.
Marcus Bean, Adam Miller and most surprisingly Ian Evatt have all been told that offers for the players will be considered after being most unimpressive this season.
Summer signing Evatt has made over 20 appearances this term but has been very inconsistent and Holloway told the press he expected much more from the former Chesterfield skipper. He has been relegated to the substitute’s bench for the past few fixtures following the return to fitness of Matthew Rose.
Bean is being watched by Swansea City where he spent 2 successful loan spells and Miller has been approached by Oxford United about a possible switch and is expected to join on trial this week with a view for a permanent deal.
This follows the release of Nigerian defender Ugo Ukah and veteran forward Dean Sturridge.
Ukah has left the club and Sturridge is leaving but negotiations on terminating his contract have hit a stumbling block but will hopefully be completed by the end of January.
The club has also announced that on Tuesday 28th February, Loftus Road will host an international friendly between world cup finalists Trinidad & Tobago and Iceland.
The kick-off time is yet to be announced but players such as Shaka Hislop, Dwight Yorke and Eidur Gudjohnsen should all be on show. More details will be on QPR MAD as soon as there released.
