INJURY LATEST

Ian Holloway has admitted that the deciding factor of Rangers’ Championship season may hinge on the club’s small squad.

Paul Furlong missed the recent 2-1 defeat to Wolves due to a groin problem and Ollie explained, once Furs was out- the team was always going to struggle.

"Martin Rowlands did well in attack, but it's very frustrating to have lost him,"

Latest news sources are suggesting Furs could well return to the side for this weekend’s match at home to Burnley. With options a little thin up front for the time being (Jamie Cureton’s injury), Ollie will hope to be able to call on the veteran striker who has already netted eight times this season.

The Super Hoops came close to equalling a club record when they went on a rampaging seven match winning streak before losing to Preston and then Wolves, managing to have an almost injury-free squad. But following a super performance in the derby win at home to West Ham, Ollie was left to the bare bones to pick a side for the loss at Deepdale.

Holloway said, "Without Gareth Ainsworth, Nicky Culkin, Dan Shittu, Tony Thorpe, Jamie Cureton and Paul Furlong, anyone would be short.
"It's all about strength in depth and we struggle without them."

JOHNSON MAKES LOAN MOVE TO DONS

Rangers’ Aussie midfielder Richard Johnson yesterday (Monday) completed a loan move to Milton Keynes Dons.

The 30-year old will join the League 1 side for a month with a view to a permanent move after having his options limited at Loftus Road.

Johnson said "I've been out of things at QPR, and it will be nice to get some games under my belt."

"The manager, Stuart Murdoch, is in a difficult position with injuries, and I'm pleased to come here and help out."

Johnson was a main figure in the final months of last season’s promotion winning side but following Kevin Gallen’s move into midfield and the form of Marc Bircham, the former Watford player has been squeezed out of the equation.

He goes straight into the Dons squad for this weekend’s fixture at Walsall.
