The 27-year-old full-back, who will be out of contract in the summer, is finally back to fitness after seven months recovering from a cruciate injury and is out to impress manager Neil Warnock.
"I want to stay here for the foreseeable future and the gaffer knows that," he said.
"I haven't sat down and talked to him but he knows I want to stay.
"The gaffer has said he wants to see if I can still do what I do, and hopefully I'll do enough to impress him and earn a new deal.
"This is the place to be at the moment so I've got no intention of leaving unless I'm told otherwise."
