Rangers brush Argyle aside to top table

A packed out Loftus Road saw QPR romp to the top of the 2nd division in style with a 3-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle. Argyle lead the league going into the game on goal difference from the R's but all form was put aside for this clash.
Rangers played it like a cup tie, first to every loose ball and with flair when attacking. Marcus Bean and Marc Bircham worked tirelously throughout in the centre of midfield while Gallen and Thorpe linked well together up front.
From this performance Rangers certainly don't deserve to be in the second divisiob for much longer. The heartache of playoff final defeat in Cardiff still hurts the players and faithfull fans. It is that which has driven the team on to succeed and climb up to somewhere where they no they belong.
Gallen's first goal was a free-kick driven low from the left corner of the penalty spot. It sent the crowd into ecstacy and the players responded. By half-time Rangers were in control and thoroughly deserving their goal lead.
It was two goals in three second half minutes however that finished the Pilgrims' visit to West London. Firstly Tony Thorpe scoring for the second game running, neatly finishing from 10 yards when the ball fell to him in the area. It was the type of strikers finish that made Ian Holloway sign him, and then Gallen with his fifth of the season. A superb finish from a great through ball from Bean.
It rounded off an excellent week for QPR, derby win against Brentford and an impressive victory over Plymouth.
But the next few weeks look tough for the R's, an away trip to Swindon and a home game with Sheffield Wednesday and as Holloway says "it's mad to look at the table at the moment, it isn't heaven and it isn't hell". True he maybe but it doesn't stop the crowd singing "We are top of the league"!!!
