Swindon Town's Rhys Evans renewed an important old acquaintance at home to Queens Park Rangers - Rangers manager Ian Holloway.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper, who started his career at Chelsea, believes that he owes a debt of thanks to Holloway for the faith he showed in him in twice taking him on loan; and he gave credence to Holloway's backing by helping Swindon hold the leaders to a 1-1 draw.
Holloway initially signed him on loan for Bristol Rovers, where Evans made his first league appearances, and the keeper also played under Holloway at QPR.
He has proved to be one of the division's leading keepers since being signed by Swindon on a free transfer before the start of the season, and he says, 'I have nothing but thanks to Ian because he put me on the right track.'
In yesterday's match, Swindon went ahead through another ex-Chelsea player, Sam Parkin, and it was not until 11 minutes from the end that QPR were able to find the net themselves. Their scorer was Martin Rowlands.
