Rangers have signed 15-year old schoolboy Ryan Flood.
The R’s moved to secure the young keeper on a schoolboy contract after recent trials with Southampton and Reading came to nothing. The Saints had already rejected him at the age of 10 before signing for Bournemouth, his local club at 13.
He has represented Southampton and Hampshire’s school sides at under 14 and 15 level and made it onto the substitutes for the Cherries’ under 19 side.
Following the departure of the Bournemouth youth team goalkeeping coach, Flood chose to leave and join his local side Hedge End Rangers where he has been resurrecting his early career.
The R’s will hope to develop the early talent showed by Flood through the successful youth system at the club
