Stockdale joins Millers

Robbie Stockdale today joined Championship rivals and opening day opposition Rotherham United.

Stockdale was regarded as a possible new signing to fit into the R's side at right-back following his contract expiring earlier this month.
Rotherham were always favourites to sign the player and with Rangers boss Ian Holloway making no comment on the possibility of the defender coming to Loftus Road, the Millers moved to sign the player today.

The player only made two appearances for Boro' last term and will now join Ronnie Moore's Millers- Rangers opposition on the opening day of the newly named Coca-Cola Championship.

Holloway has been working over time to bring in defensive cover for the already departed Terrell Forbes, Steve Palmer and Clarke Carlisle but has said of his dissatisfaction on the current players out-of-contract.

The club has been linked with moves to sign Ipswich player Chris Makin and ex-Rangers loan player Stephen Kelly.

Matthew Rose, Richard Johnson and Richard Edghill are all still considering and stalling on new deals in the hope a new, more improved deal will come their way in the near future. However the club is unlikely to improve any of the new offers leaving the players having to settle on their first offers. A decision on their futures will be made soon by the club and QPR MAD will bring you news as soon as we hear it.
