Tony Thorpe injured his heel on Thursday in training for last Saturday's win at home to Rushden & Diamonds.
He injured it while scoring a goal in a training match and it is not yet known the length of time he will be missing.
It is a blow to Thorpe and Rangers as the Thorpedo was in top form my netting 7 in 9 and forming a formidible partnership upfront with Kevin Gallen.
Luckily Paul Furlong's comeback from injury could not come quick enough as he was able to replace Thorpe in the starting X1 although looking a littl rusty.
