Treatment Table

Doherty took part in Tuesday’s session suffering no ill effects but Saturday’s clash with Luton is still too soon for a return for the former Bristol City star. Georges Santos is also likely to miss the trip to Kenilworth Road after damaging his ankle in last Saturday’s win at home to Southampton. The injury was feared much worse but after an inspection from the R’s medical team many fears were put aside and Georges should return in the next week. His absence means a whole in defence may be up for grabs for the two new loan signings Andy Taylor and Polish defender Marcin Kus who has taken up the number 19 jersey vacated by Aaron Brown. The squad was given Monday off after the impressive weekend display and the extra day rest has allowed players such as Gareth Ainsworth, Paul Furlong and youngster Shabazz Baidoo to recover from knocks and bruises sustained in the 1-0 win. Elsewhere, the reserves went down 4-2 against AFC Wimbledon and youth goalkeeper Sean Thomas paid a visit to hospital after suffering a nasty facial injury. Hospital staff cleared Thomas of serious injury and he is making a full recovery this weekend and he will be an able deputy for Simon Royce on Saturday should Ian Holloway feel the need for a back-up keeper on the bench. The match was specially arranged by the club’s officials and was played behind closed doors. Rangers’ side included Mauro Milanese, Scott Donnelly and Stefan Moore. Despite there strong side they were defeated in an entertaining fixture by the League 1 club.
