The 27-year-old scored 17 times for QPR in his time at the club, but it all went downhill after his first season where he netted 14 of those goals and picked up the player of the year award.

Ian Holloway said of the player: "He is a smashing lad and we have missed his personality around the place. He has been a major part of QPR and I am not surprised that he has done well during his spell at Rushden. I would like to wish him all the best in the play-offs and for the future."

During his spell on loan, Wardley netted some important goals for Rushden, proving enough to secure a permanent switch. "There is a great bunch of lads here and a very good manager and the football club is absolutely amazing so I am glad to have secured a future here" he told Rushden's official website.

We wish him well for the future.
