Rangers under17s maintained their unbeaten run this season with a 1-1 draw at Colchester on Saturday morning.
Dean Sylvester's 15 th minute strike was cancelled out late on, but although manager Joe Gallen was pleased to see his side avoid defeat for the sixth game running, he felt that this was still a missed opportunity.
"We should have won the game and we had plenty of opportunities in the opening half hour to wrap the game up.
"We took our foot off the pedal and we were made to pay for a below par performance in the second half.
"Nethertheless, we are still unbeaten and to have gone six games without a defeat is very pleasing, particularly as five of them have come away from home.
"They will learn from this result and hopefully remember that if you don't play at 100%, you can miss out."
