Gallen saves the day (again)
Since probably our best win of the season at Stoke we have been stuttering & stumbling along looking a completely different team.

Going into a game without the likes of Digby, Rose, Peacock, Thomson and Connolly is tough enough but when you then play half the team out of position it doesn't make matters any easier.

I've defended Holloway on many occasions this season but just when will he realise that Bignot is a right-back and not a left-back (or midfielder); Palmer is too slow to play in midfield; Griffiths isn't a winger, despite what anyone says and Langley isn't as effective when he's stuck out wide on the right.

The subs bench must have had an average age of about 18 with four players from the youth team (Bull, Oli, Daly & Murphy) and of course Doudou which is a little indication of some of the difficulties Holloway has.

Evans was sound enough on his debut and Bonnot had a fairly good game. Despite the fact that we had about 20 corners we didn't do a lot with them and Wigan took the lead when Jason De Vos scored from a header after 70 minutes.

Gallen's hold up play is superb at times when he comes deep and brings others into the game — he deserved his goal and took it well with a sweet left-foot curler into the corner.

The play-offs though are starting to slip away as we continue to drop points at home and get beat away. Even though it's still fairly tight at the top of the table I think we have blown our chance and are looking at a mid-table place.

QPR: 4-4-2 - Evans 6 - Forbes 7, Shittu 6, Ben Askar 7, Bignot 7 - Langley 6, Palmer 5, Bonnot 7, Griffiths 7 (78mins Oli) - Gallen 8, Pacquette 5 (61mins Doudou 7). SNU: Bull, Murphy, Daly.
